The Vermont Aviation Council, the Federal Aviation Administration and the Vermont Agency of Transportation invite you to come spend a week exploring the exciting field of aviation!

Come see how multifaceted aviation is, and be exposed to many different types of aircraft in this hands-on, active camp! We will take a look at aerodynamics, principles of flight, parts of an aircraft, aviation weather, medical aspects affecting flight, and much, much more!

Campers will have the opportunity to take a Young Eagles flight during the camp. If weather is cooperative, we will shoot for tethered balloon rides, and occasionally rides in other types of aircraft as well, such as gliders and powered parachutes.

Girls and boys 11-14 years of age are welcome to apply. Please contact the VAAC for a camp application.

*Young Eagles flights are coordinated and flown by the EAA, and provided with the written consent of a parent/guardian.

Tentative segments include:

  • Young Eagles Flights
  • Building Wood Ribs
  • Field Trips to various Airports
  • Aviation History
  • Airplane Mechanics
  • Aerobatics
  • Tour Flight Service and Control Tower
